Is kayak fishing for me?
Kayak fishing is the fastest growing segment of the fishing industry for many reasons.    The very biggest is the paddle craft.   In addition to being built with the stability to eliminate capsizing, fishing kayaks have been redesigned in recent years to be much more comfortable as well.   The kayaks move well in the water and there are options such as rudders for steering and anchor trolley systems for better positioning of the kayak for the actual fishing.  The economics decision of kayak fishing is obvious:  A one-time investment in the kayak, paddle, rigging and safety equipment and minus "engine trouble", never adding fuel or recharging a battery is the true simplicity of the kayak as your fishing machine.    Often overlooked, it is a peaceful and serene way to experience nature.

With the kayak, you sacrifice speed compared to the powerboat options for inshore fishing but the advantages are significant.   Access to shallow waters no other anglers can reach by boat, wading or otherwise, the kayak angler can slide in to areas with "zero noise" and so low to the water, none of the predators realize you're even there.   The low profile of being this close to the water also allows you to get much closer to the fish without alerting them to your presence.

A charter with Strike Three Kayak Fishing is the very best way to find out if this is the way you want to do your fishing.    You can try out the various models in the Native Watercraft line to find the kayak that's best for what you want to do with it and get instruction on "fishing from the seated position."   Call to discuss any concerns or questions that you have!
