There are always excellent fishing opportunities around the Tampa Bay area. Seasonal variations cause the fish to be located in different locations but they are always available.
Are kayaks tippy? Not anymore. Fishing kayaks are built wider than the kayaks of the past. The Native Watercraft used by Strike Three Kayak Fishing are very stable and comfortable.
While there is a learning curve if you are a beginner, paddling a kayak is pretty easy, especially if you have done some paddling in the past. You will get all the instruction on how to properly paddle and use your kayak.
Hat, water shoes or sandals that will stay on, sunglasses, sunscreen, clothes you can get wet, snack and a Florida fishing license. If you have questions on what to bring, please give me a call.
What about Bugs, Alligators, Sharks and Sting Rays?
These creatures tend to try to avoid human contact and are usually more afraid of us than we are of them. With the instruction you will be given, you will learn how to prevent stepping on stingrays. Sharks are commonly sighted but aren't interested in humans. Alligators are rarely seen at all in the salt water environment. They are all amazing to watch, from a safe distance. Bugs are not a particularly big problem in the region but if they are present, I will have some sprays to minimize the nuisance.
Yes. Express your goals and this is easy to do. Redfish, snook, trout, flounder or whatever you desire, that will be the focus.
Absolutely. Getting the kids hooked on the sport at an early age is something you will be able to share for a very long time. The instruction all of you will get will make your own outings more successful and enjoyable.
Lodging suggestions are available. From resort-style locations for the whole family to basic "efficiency" style setups, the area has different options for different needs and budgets.
We'll fish "where the fish are", as the late Captain Mel Berman used to say. I can select the location or I can go to places that are geographically desirable to you or a particular place you would like to be guided.
Strike Three clients may keep a fish as long as it is in accordance with Florida law. If this is something you want to do, bring your own cooler that is big enough to hold the harvested fish. It can be arranged where Neil fillets the fish for you. To see the saltwater fishing regulations:
In the case of inclement weather the day of the trip, we will give you the option of selecting another day to do the trip or a refund. An enjoyable, safe experience is most important, so the decision to postpone or cancel will be made with those things in mind.
